Szabó Réka – The Symptoms: CROAK – a screening of the recorded performance with English subtitles followed by a conversation with the creators
We premiered our special community performance, Croak two years ago involving twelve people who lost their vocation and a Bird. We performed it three times for a full house at the Jurányi Art Incubator House but for various reasons we couldn’t keep it on our repertoir. Nevertheless, the performers have stayed in touch since, and we are now organizing a screening of the recorded performance followed by a converstaion with the creators moderated by Katalin Törley.
Croak explores the experience of loss involving civilians concerned in this matter. While we approached the subject exclusively through the personal stories, experiences and feelings of those involved, the performance raises much broader socially relevant questions which provide a glimpse of Hungarian reality today. After the hour and half long screening we welcome you for a conversation with the creators moderated by Katalin Törley. Topics: vocation, loss, courage, pain, struggle, shame, loneliness, betrayal, passing, restarting, and anything else of interest to you.
