CALL

We are looking for a young speaker for the Fahidi Éva Award ceremony!

If you  - are up to 25 years old,

       -      have met Éva Fahidi personally or indirectly (for example, you have read her book, seen a film about her, or given a lecture with her, heard her speak),

            - and this meeting was decisive for you,

then take a pen and write down what she meant to you, what you take away from her, what still resonates in your thoughts from her words and personality. If you look at the world differently, make decisions, or consider things because of her, please share it with us!

The length of the article can be 2000-4000 characters without spaces. Please submit your application using this form by October 15, 2025.

We will notify all applicants by October 22 (this day is Éva Fahidi's 100th birthday).

The selected young person will be able to express their thoughts in person at the international award ceremony starting at 6:30 PM on October 30, 2025 in the Bálint House, representing Éva Fahidi's intellectual legacy that evening. We will exhibit additional worthy writings in printed form in the award ceremony space. We look forward to your application!

Éva Fahidi lost 49 relatives during the Holocaust, including her parents, grandparents and little sister. Despite the horrors she experienced, or perhaps because of it, she became an ambassador of acceptance and peace.

The aim of the Fahidi Éva Award – founded by Andor Andrási and Ádám Fischer and hosted by Bálint Ház – is to recognize the work of the outstanding individuals who receive the award, to inspire the younger generation in building an inclusive, compassionate, caring society, rejecting exclusion and hatred.
