Against hatred – for acceptance. International nominations for the Éva Fahidi Award are now open!

Éva Fahidi was a Holocaust survivor and the protagonist of our performance Sea Lavender and our documentary The Euphoria of Being.

This October will mark Éva's 100th birthday, which we will sadly celebrate without her.

We are pleased to announce that for the first time, international nominations are now open for the Éva

Fahidi Award!

The award was established in 2024 by Andor Andrási, Éva Fahidi’s partner, together with the

conductor Ádám Fischer. It aims to recognize and bring visibility to individuals who work

with young people to actively stand up against prejudice, hate speech, exclusion, and

discrimination.

Who can be nominated?

Private individuals whose personal example, professional or volunteer work with young

people has significantly contributed to strengthening a culture of understanding, dialogue,

and inclusion in our society.

Why is the nomination important?

Many people work quietly and with great dedication to reduce hatred and foster compassion

amongst the next generation. The Éva Fahidi Award offers an opportunity for these

individuals’ activities to reach a wider audience, providing inspiration and encouragement to

others.

How can you nominate someone?

The nomination process is simple and only takes a few minutes via an online form accessible

by https://balinthaz.hu/tett/eva-fahidi-award-2025

Nomination deadline: August 9, 2025, at 11:59 PM
