The aim of the prize founded by Trafó House of Contemporary Arts and MU Theatre is to acknowledge the best Hungarian creations and creative artists of the year. Named after one of the most important innovative figure of the 20th century European dance, Rudolf Lábán of Hungarian origin, the prize is awarded by a panel of independent critics and journalists.
In 2012 out of 122 productions 8 were nominated for the Award. The two winners of the Rudolf Lábán Award are: Vote by The Symptoms – choreography/direction by Réka Szabó and Captured in Eternity by the Collective of Natural Disasters.
